Orchard Trap Monitoring

 This service provides growers with valuable information so more informed decisions can be made on their pest and disease management programs. It provides a weekly trap report detailing trap catches, that the grower and IK Caldwell agronomist will use to discuss various crop protection options.

Typically the trap monitoring program will involve;

  • Pre season discussion with an IKC agronomist to determine your trap needs.
  • Early warning of pending Codling and Oriental Fruit Moth grub hatches based on all traps in your region.
  • A report detailing your trap counts and trends on a weekly basis. This data can be accessed via our pestData system. Click here for more information
  • An end of season report highlighting seasonal trends by trap and region. This can be used to facilitate planning for next season's pest management strategies.

IK Caldwell monitor a range of orchard and tomato pests including;

  • Oriental Fruit moth
  • Codling moth
  • Light Brown Apple moth
  • Heliothis (armigera)
  • Heliothis (punctigera)

Orchard Monitoring Service

IKC offer a high quality monitoring service that allows for complete flexibility in the monitoring of your orchard. The service provides you with valuable information so more informed decisions can be made on your pest and disease management programs. It will provide weekly monitoring information that you and the IK Caldwell agronomist will use to discuss various crop protection options.

Typically the program includes the following;

  • Pre season discussion with an agronomist to determine your time requirements, needs and desired outcomes from the orchard block monitoring service.

  • A dedicated scout for the entire season with weekly visits from September to April (inclusive).

  • A report after each visit that will list all that was observed and comments from IK Caldwell Agronomist to discuss actions (if any) required by grower.

How much is monitored is up to you. At  the beginning of the season the grower and the agronomist will determine how much time each week will be needed to monitor various parts of your orchard (obviously we can not monitor your entire orchard in one visit). Once this has been determined the scout will spend that designated amount of time each week monitoring those parts of your orchard that require it.

The program gives complete flexibility to you and the IK Caldwell scout.
